📚❤️ Celebrating National Reading Month at VGS! ❤️📚

During the month of February, the VGS PTO collected books to give away to every Vienna Grade School student in honor of National Reading Month—and what an amazing success it was!

Over the past few weeks, each child received a “new-ish” book in a fun and exciting way, helping spark a love for reading across our school. ✨

A huge THANK YOU to the Southern Illinois Future Teachers Coalition (SIFTC) future teachers at Vienna High School for helping bring this project to life, and to all of our wonderful community members who donated books.

We truly couldn’t do this without you! 💛

This week was MARCH SNACK MADNESS for the Vienna Grade School staff. The PTO provided snack brackets- with different foods squaring off each day. Today (Friday) was the Championship where the victor emerged [drumroll please.....] BROWNIES were the winner! From the daily votes was randomly drawn the winner for a gift card- and it couldn't have been a sweeter recipient- Danielle Norton ❤️

Enjoy a sweet treat anytime today in the teacher's break room. Ice Cream is in the freezer, all the toppings you could want-- plus cookies, brownies, crunchy sweet snack mix, hot cocoa, and an assortment of gourmet coffees.

📚✨ Calling all VGS Families & Community! ✨📚

The VGS PTO is collecting new or gently used children’s books throughout the month of February to help us create a special surprise for our students!

In celebration of National Reading Month in March, every child will receive a mystery book to take home and enjoy! 🎉📖 A 'Blind Date With a Book'

We are counting on our amazing school family and community to help make this project a success. If you have new or gently used books you’d like to donate (suitable for PreK through 8th grade), please drop them off at the Vienna Grade School office during the month of February.

Let’s spread the love of reading one book at a time! ❤️📚

Jan 1st often brings deep discounts on holiday items. The Vienna Grade School PTO is in need of wrapping paper, gift bags/boxes, and bows for next year's Santa Shop. Donations are appreciated and help us to continue to offer Santa Shop for the enjoyment of the students and their families. If at all possible, wrapping paper should be the heavier type (sometimes called "premium" or "luxury") - because the super thin type does not hold up to kids transporting their gifts home (sometimes in their backpacks or on the school bus). Thank you!
