Our Botany Club kicked off the year by rolling up their sleeves to w**d, clean, and prep our school garden out back. And to celebrate yesterday's Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the students potted sweet basil propagated directly from our garden bed.
Why basil? According to Christian tradition, Saint Helena found the True Cross in Jerusalem buried beneath a hill of wild basil. Thank you to Father Kumar for stopping by our first meeting to bless the plants before our club members potted and delivered them to our teachers.

Bishop O’Connell came to visit!
We are so excited and proud to welcome Wildcats home. These DJO Knights visited our 8th graders to share the great things happening at their high school. They chatted about their experience in high school faith formation, academics, school traditions, campus life, sports, fine arts, and clubs.

Our Wildcats found their official homes as they were sorted into DeSales House, Aviat House, Brisson House, and DeChantal House!
The excitement stayed high as the houses immediately jumped into their very first House Challenge, showing off their school spirit and teamwork. We capped off this powerful day coming together in quiet reverence for Adoration, complete with a beautiful procession of the Holy Eucharist. High energy, friendly competition, and deep faith—what a blessing to grow together in community!

Our middle schoolers have been putting their focus and teamwork to the test with "See Hear Do" and "Boom Clap Sn**ch"! These energetic games were all about sharpening attention to detail and building great communication skills. Great job keeping up the energy, Wildcats!

Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School proudly announces they have received Redesignation as a Project ADAM Heart Safe School. OLGC was the first school north of Richmond to receive designation in August 2023 and was also the first private school in the state to be designated. The tri-annual award sponsored locally by Children’s Hospital of Richmond promotes schools which have cardiac emergency plans in place and meet criteria including AED placement through the campus, completed emergency drills, and include both staff and community training on cardiac emergencies.
