A big thank you to our friends at Rustic Love Vienna for their generous donation to help feed students in need at our Food4Thought Partner School Marshall Road Elementary School in Vienna! The caring staff and parent volunteers inspired us to launch Food4Thought in 2011, and they were our first partner school.

Hello everyone,
My family just moved here from NY. My son David will be going to Marshall school this year. I was wondering how the after care program works? And if there’s other alternatives? Because as I saw on the fairfax website it said you could be on the waitlist but not sure when will my child will be getting in, so I’m a lot concerned as I work and I need to have someone who can take care of my child after school. Please kindly advise
Thank you

Join us in celebrating the 50+ Little Libraries in Vienna with special activities and contests. A Little Library, which may be register as a Little Free Library, is a “take a book, return a book” free book exchange. They come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books in a home's front yard or public location. Check out Historic Vienna, Inc.'s Little Library next to the Freeman Store, on Mill Street. Photos of the Vienna Little Libraries and their locations will be featured online. There is sure to be a Little Library located near you.
Little Libraries inspire readers and strengthen communities.-
~ "92% of people say their neighborhood feels like a friendlier place because of a Little Free Library."
~ "3 out of 4 people report they've read a book they normally would not have read because of a Little Free Library."
"More than 90,000 public book exchanges are registered with the Little Free Library organization. Through Little Free Libraries, present in 91 countries, millions of books are exchanged each year, with the aim of increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds."

I have a question with regard to tomorrow’s (11/30) asynchronous day. I have a child at thoreau & MRES. Is MRES only having the asynchronous day tomorrow or all of FCPS? In the text I received I would have thought it was for both my kids. If specific to MRES I think the text/email/communication should state that. School is hard enough and now I’m trying to figure out who has what tomorrow. Thanks for your help!
Below was in the MRES email and a text I received which I presumed was from FCPS but maybe just MRES. Again appreciate the help!
Calendar Reminder: Schools and Offices Closed November 25-27 for Thanksgiving Holiday
As a reminder, schools and offices will be closed Wednesday, November 25 through Friday, November 27, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Classes will resume on Tuesday, December 1. Monday, November 30, is an asynchronous day. See the complete 2020-21 school year calendar.
Missing the Roadrunners! Got this guy in honor of MRES.
So the options are 100% distance learning or 2 days a week in school and 2 days a week distance learning... how about 4 days in school??? Distance learning DOES NOT work for my kids. Is 4 days a week even an option???
