🍎 **Friday’s Lunch for Our Teachers!** 💙

This past Friday, the PTA had the pleasure of treating our amazing teachers and staff to lunch!

These dedicated teachers were already at school before the school day even started, getting ready to welcome and support our students. Their commitment begins long before that first bell rings, and we are so grateful for everything they do for our school community each and every day. ❤️

A big thank-you to our wonderful PTA community for helping make this lunch possible, and an even bigger thank-you to our teachers for all the time, care, and heart they give to our students! 🥪🍎💐

The Hospitality Committee welcomed our teachers on their first day back with breakfast to kick off the new school year. We’re grateful for all they do and excited for the year ahead! 💙

Welcome to a new year at Cuningham Park! Here are the first two PTA meeting dates to kick off the school year. While I am working to gain access to the newsletter, I will continue to share updates on Facebook and the website.

August 28th at 5 PM: Celebrate with us at the Pizza Party on the Playground, followed by our first PTA Meeting. An agenda will be posted on the website a few days beforehand. This meeting will primarily cover introductions, plans for the year, and the budget.

September 29th at 7 PM: Our second PTA Meeting will be held in the library. The agenda will be posted approximately a week in advance.

We’re excited to kick off a memorable and successful school year together!

Do you have a child starting kindergarten this fall?

Join us for a Kindergarten playdate this Saturday, August 15th from 10–11 a.m. at Cunningham Park Playground! The PTA will provide Freezee pops for all children—and for adults who are young at heart. In case of inclement weather, please check the FCPS website for cancellations.

Help bring after-school activities to life for our students—volunteer with us! We’re looking for an enthusiastic After-school Activities Chair and Attendance Volunteers to help create memorable experiences. As Chair, you’ll spearhead exciting programming, collaborate with vendors, and lead the attendance team. Attendance Volunteers only need to give about 15 minutes after school on days we have after-school activities, ensuring our students are safe and accounted for. Volunteering is a rewarding way to connect with other families, strengthen our school community, and directly impact our children’s enrichment. Interested? Contact Patrick Johnsen at [email protected]. Without your support, after-school activities may not happen this fall, and we would need to find an outside company for future programs.

This Wednesday is many things. It's our "Do Over" for Walk and Bike to School Day. It's our 3rd and final PTA meeting (at the Walk and Bike event, right after the kids get to class) and then it's Dining for Dollars at Pupatella at the Mosaic. It's also Early Release Wednesday.
