Cunningham Park Elementary School

Today we recognize Juneteenth, a celebration and commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. Also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, Juneteenth marks a day in 1865 when enslaved Texans learned they would be free, two months after the end of the Civil War and two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

Today is the last day of the school year, Wednesday, June 17, and students will be dismissed early at 1:30 PM.

Big news! 🎉 Our amazing multilingual learners have officially unlocked English proficiency and graduated from the ESOL program. We are so proud of your hard work and bright future!

Rain or shine, our elementary racers gave it their all at today's relay! Big congrats to the red team, and huge thanks to Mrs. Petty for creating a safe place for the relay!

Mrs. Dean, Mrs. Bonner, and Mrs. Hoak traded the CPES halls for Bruster's Ice Cream, serving up sweet smiles. Huge thanks to everyone who came out for the fun!🍦
