Today in Pre-K the Curriculum was about dirt and how worms survive in their environment. They worked on their fine
motor skills by threading string symbolizing a worm through tubes.
we created our own worm tunnels, and showed our friends how the worms crawl through them.
We also practiced our shapes by using chalk outside also.

Here’s a look at some of what our Pre-K class did this week while learning about bird parts! 🐦✨ The children worked together on a bird mix-up puzzle, building teamwork 🤝, problem-solving 🧠, and communication skills 💬 as they matched the parts. They built paper airplanes ✈️ while discussing how wings help things fly, strengthening critical thinking and making real-world connections 🌎. Using feathers to replicate a bird’s wing supported sensory exploration 👀, creativity 🎨, and fine motor development ✋.
We also worked on blending words to build early reading and phonics skills 📖🔤. The children took sticky notes with their names and “flew” them to different places in the room, helping with name recognition, letter awareness 🔠, and gross motor movement 🏃‍♂️. They colored and glued parts of a bird, strengthening fine motor skills and following directions, and compared tail sizes to introduce early math concepts like measurement 📏 and comparison.
The children also designed and created their own birds 🐤 while discussing the importance of a bird’s tail and imagining what might happen without one, encouraging creativity 🎨, critical thinking 🤔, and language development 💬. All of this took place alongside our daily circle time, where we learned about the letters B and R 🔤, hexagons 🔷, the word “generosity” ❤️, the color white 🤍, and the numbers 15 and 16 🔢—supporting early literacy 📚, math skills ➕, social-emotional development 😊, and overall school readiness 🎓✨.
