Here’s a look at what our Pre-K class has been learning and exploring over the past couple of days! 🐆👟🔤
The children learned about coats and the letter O, creating their own patterned cheetah fur designs while exploring patterns and using their creativity. They also sorted animal cards by whether they had fur, feathers, or scales, building their classification and observation skills.
For early literacy, the children traced and colored pages featuring the letters O and T, practicing letter recognition and fine-motor control. They also enjoyed reading Beatriz’s Bananas and The Very Big Hat, encouraging listening, comprehension, and vocabulary development. 📚
Our learning then shifted to socks and shoes! The children played a “Your Shoe?” game where they took turns returning shoes to their owners, practicing matching and social skills. They designed their own shoes, practiced lacing and tying, and matched beginning sounds to letters using different shoe-related words. 👞👟
To finish up, the children moved their feet to the tempo of music, exploring rhythm, coordination, listening skills, and gross-motor movement! 🎶💃

Here’s a few of our fun, hands-on activities our toddlers have done the past two days! 👕🔤
They practiced matching by pairing cards featuring different animal coats, helping strengthen their visual discrimination and matching skills. They also worked on tracing the letter T and coloring a page featuring words that begin with T, giving them practice with letter recognition, fine-motor skills, and early literacy.
The toddlers used story stickers to create their own stories, encouraging creativity, imagination, and language development. They also practiced identifying letter sounds using clothing-related words while matching each word to the corresponding clothing item. This helped build their phonological awareness while connecting letters and sounds to familiar objects! 💕

👕 This week our toddler class is learning all about CLOTHES! 👚
Today, our friends started by practicing matching and naming different shapes, building their shape recognition, vocabulary, and cognitive skills. 🔵🟨🔺 Next, they listened to the story “Tap Head for Hat,” which encouraged listening, language development, and participation. 📖🧢
The children then got creative by decorating their own tiny shirts, using different materials and marks to express their creativity while strengthening their fine-motor skills. 🎨👕 To finish our day, everyone played Head-to-Toe Bingo, identifying and matching different types of clothing while practicing recognition, memory, and following directions. 👖🧦👟

This week, our Pre-K class is learning all about clothing! 🧥👖 Today, we started by learning about the letter T and sharing our favorite shirts, encouraging language development and personal expression. We then took on a folding challenge using washcloths to practice folding and creating different shapes, building fine-motor skills, coordination, and problem-solving. 🧺🔷
Next, the children designed their own tiny T-shirts using different marks and patterns, then used yarn to “place” buttons on their shirts, strengthening hand-eye coordination and fine-motor control. 🎨👕🧵 They also practiced early literacy skills with onset-rime cards, combining different beginning sounds and word endings to create new words. 🔤📚
For a little math practice, the children played a button color-matching game, matching buttons to their corresponding colors on a mat while working on color recognition and sorting. 🔴🟡🔵 Finally, they created beautiful tie-dye-inspired coffee filters by coloring them with markers and spraying them with water. 💧🌈 This fun process encouraged creativity while allowing the children to explore how colors blend and spread!

Today, our toddlers had a fun-filled day of learning and friendship! 🥰 They started their day with a game where they practiced finding and greeting their friends by name, helping build name recognition, communication, and social-emotional skills. 👋💛 Next, they practiced following directions while rolling and bouncing a ball, strengthening gross-motor skills, coordination, listening, and turn-taking. 🏀👏
For our art activity, the children glued circles onto paper and then drew circles around them to create their own unique collages. ⭕🎨 This encouraged creativity while strengthening fine-motor control and shape recognition. They finished by listening and moving along to Draw a Circle, following movement prompts and practicing drawing circles in the air. 🎶⭕✋ This supported body awareness, following directions, and pre-writing skills.
🎉 Bonus Celebration! 🎂 We also got to celebrate one of our friends turning 2 years old today! Everyone enjoyed celebrating together with delicious cupcakes! 🧁🥳💗

Today, our Pre-K class continued learning about the five senses by exploring the sense of taste! 👅🍎 First, the children participated in a community-helper role-play activity where they practiced sharing and serving food, encouraging social skills, communication, and cooperation. 🤝🍽️ Next, they strengthened their fine-motor skills by threading colorful beads to create their own candy-inspired bracelets. 🍬📿 Then, the children used picture cards to clap and blend syllables together to form words, supporting phonological awareness and early literacy skills. 👏🗣️📚 Finally, they used buttons to match different shapes and recreate patterns and designs, building shape recognition, visual-spatial skills, problem-solving, and hand-eye coordination. 🔵🔺🟩✨

👀 Exploring Our Sense of Sight! 👀
This week, our Pre-K class is learning all about the five senses! Today, we focused on our sense of sight during circle time and discussed how we use our eyes to explore and learn about the world around us. We also introduced the letter A and practiced recognizing its sound and shape. 🔤
The children then put their sense of sight to work with a fun game of “I Spy,” encouraging observation, visual awareness, vocabulary, and communication skills. 👀🔎 Next, they built different shapes and structures with blocks before using a flashlight to explore the shadows their creations made. 🔦🧱 This hands-on activity introduced concepts of light, shadows, shapes, and cause and effect.
For our art activity, the children used different colors and shapes of paper to create their own artwork inspired by the famous geometric style of Piet Mondrian. 🎨🟥🟦 This encouraged creativity, pattern recognition, shape identification, and fine motor development.
To finish our learning, we worked on compound words to strengthen language and literacy skills. 📚 We also rolled a cube and counted fruit slices, giving us a fun way to practice number recognition, counting, and one-to-one correspondence. 🎲🍎

👀👂👃👅🖐️ Five Senses Learning! 🖐️👅👃👂👀
This week, our toddlers are learning all about their five senses! Today, they started by exploring and naming different foods they enjoy eating, encouraging them to use their sense of taste while building vocabulary and communication skills. 🍎🍌🥨
Next, we read “If You’re Happy and You Know It” while practicing moving different body parts. 🎶😊 This activity encouraged listening, body awareness, following directions, and gross motor development.
For our sensory art activity, the toddlers used white crayons to draw on paper and then painted over their drawings with watercolors to reveal their hidden pictures! 🎨🖍️💦 This fun activity encouraged fine motor skills, creativity, sensory exploration, and cause-and-effect learning.
The toddlers also created their own faces by choosing different facial feature shapes and placing them on face mats. 😊👀👃👄 This helped them identify facial features while developing spatial awareness, fine motor skills, and self-awareness.
To finish our learning, we practiced tracing happy and sad faces, helping the children recognize and express different emotions while strengthening their pre-writing skills. 😀😢✏️

🦵 Today in Pre-K! 🦵
Today, our Pre-K friends continued learning about the human body, with a special focus on our legs! During circle time, we discussed who has legs, what we use our legs for, and how they help us walk, run, jump, balance, and move. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
The children then used playdough and blocks to create a model of how our bodies are built. They wrapped playdough around the blocks to mimic how skin covers and protects our muscles and bones. 🦴💪 This hands-on experience helped the children better understand what is underneath our skin.
We also used playdough to create our own “legs” while practicing counting. 🔢 The children then placed their playdough legs onto lined paper to create bigger legs, giving them opportunities to explore size, comparison, spatial awareness, and fine-motor skills. ✋📏
Next, we practiced letter recognition and early literacy skills by tracing the letters M and F and then coloring pictures of the corresponding words. ✏️🖍️
To get our bodies moving, we listened to and danced along with “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes,” helping us review different body parts while practicing coordination and following directions. 🎶🕺💃
And, of course, we enjoyed some fresh air and movement by taking a walk! 🚶‍♀️🍂 Our walk gave us another opportunity to practice gross-motor skills, observe our surroundings, and enjoy some time outdoors.

This week, our Toddlers are learning all about their bodies! Today, we read a book about healthy body signs while practicing our signs for “drink” and “bathroom.”🥤🚽 We then took turns looking in the mirror, which helped us recognize and talk about our own faces and body features while building self-awareness. 🪞😊

After that, we got creative with blue and brown paint! 🎨 The children explored making different marks using their hands and paintbrushes, giving them an opportunity to practice their fine motor skills, creativity, and sensory exploration. 🖐️🖌️

It was a fun day full of learning, movement, and exploring our amazing bodies! 💕
