🍫🌳 IT'S ABOUT TO GET SWEET AT OAK FOREST! 🌳🍫

Hey, Oakie Families!

Just look at Ms. Bridget! She is surrounded by a fort of World's Finest Chocolate and is ready to help our Little Oakies get started with our first-ever World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser! 🍫

Our fundraiser kicks off Monday, October 12th, and we would love for our families to participate! The money raised will help support our Student Success Challenge Reward Day and other fun activities and special experiences for our students throughout the year.

🍫 How can your Little Oakie participate?

1️⃣ Starting Monday, October 12th, parents can stop by the front office to check out a box of chocolate from Ms. Bridget.

2️⃣ Take your chocolate home and sell with the help of family, friends, and neighbors!

3️⃣ Enjoy some sweet rewards along the way! Students can earn a chocolate spinner for checking out their first box, an ice cream truck party for selling 2 boxes, the chance to silly-string Principal East for selling 5 boxes, and an invitation to the Principal's Pizza Party for selling 8 boxes!

🏆 Our top three overall sellers will also win cash prizes of $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $150 for third place!

Every box sold helps us create more opportunities for our students to celebrate their hard work, growth, and success!

Each day students will learn about what Red Ribbon Week stands for and how to make healthy choices, sign the "Just Say No" pledge, and learn what to say when standing up to negative peer pressure. That’s a wrap on our Digital Citizenship unit! 🎉

Our 3rd and 4th grade Oakies took their learning to the next level by teaming up with Magic School AI to write their very own educational hits. Students picked their favorite song styles and used AI to generate creative lyrics all about online safety, digital footprints, and being kind on the internet. 🎶💻

It was amazing to see them combine technology, creativity, and responsible digital habits into one engaging project. So proud of these future-ready digital citizens! 🌟🎤

We held a 2-Week Beanstack Mini Challenge! 🎉🏆 pictures are the winners from that challenge!

During library, students have been learning how to log their reading in Beanstack, and a flyer was also sent home with information about logging reading minutes at home.

Logging reading at home is not mandatory, but it is highly encouraged! 💛 Every minute of reading counts toward building strong reading habits and reaching our school reading goals. 📖✨

🔥🚒 Learning important skills can be fun! Our Oakies enjoyed an engaging fire safety puppet show and learned some very important ways to stay safe in an emergency. After the show, students got to practice crawling low under smoke, checking a door for heat before opening it, Stop, Drop & Roll, and remembering who to call in an emergency. 🧯📞

PBIS and Golden Ticket Winners for Friday!

These hardworking students had their ticket drawn on Friday and were recognized for being Engaged, Responsible, and Kind. Everyday we strive to reward students for practicing these positive behaviors in and out of the classroom and the more tickets they earn, the better chance they have at this extra reward at the end of every week. 🎉

Teachers are recognized with Golden Tickets for all kinds of amazing efforts, big and small, that all make meaningful impact on the success of little Oakies and our Oak Forest Campus. 🥰 We appreciate their hard work and dedication and love recognizing them on Fridays and allowing them a to pick from a selection of positive rewards. 🥤🍫🖊📔

Oak Forest Elementary celebrated our amazing custodial staff on Friday. These men and women work tirelessly to help keep our school looking amazing no matter the amount of rally day pom-pom shedding, germs, or glitter messes we make. We truly appreciate all they do.
