Dear Oakie Families,
At approximately 12:28 today, our fire alarm went off. This was not a planned drill.
Our students and staff quickly responded just as we have been trained to do and safely exited the building within 5 minutes, even though some students were in the middle of lunch and specials. We are incredibly proud of how calmly and efficiently everyone responded.
The fire department promptly arrived and assessed the situation. We were informed that an AC unit was being worked on, and something triggered the fire alarm. By approximately 12:38, the building was determined to be safe, and students and staff were able to safely re-enter.
Thank you to our students, staff, and families for trusting our safety procedures and, most importantly, to everyone who did exactly what they were trained to do to keep our Oakies safe.
