J.R. Trippe is proud to announce our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Amy Whited! 🎉

Mrs. Whited is a dedicated teacher who has faithfully served our students and staff for many years. Currently, she teaches 7th grade science and social studies and serves on our PBIS committee. Mrs. Whited is beloved by her students and respected by her peers. We are so thankful she belongs to the Chief nation!

Mr. Carter’s 8th grade STEM class is using the WozEd drone unit to learn about unmanned air craft. Students have learned about general drone safety, FAA regulations, and how to assemble the drone. Basic maneuvers such as lift off and landing, flying forward and safely land on/near a target area were checked off before moving on to more advanced flight patterns.

During class, students discovered you have to have certain propellers on certain motors. Using teamwork and problem solving solutions, they corrected the issue to send the drones in the air! 👊
