School Safety Update
Vidalia City Schools is aware of a social media post circulating regarding school safety. Our School Resource Officers have thoroughly investigated the matter, and at this time, there is no credible threat to our schools.
We understand that messages of this nature can cause concern for students, families, staff, and our community. While similar posts have been circulating in communities across the nation as part of a broader social media trend, we take every report or concern regarding school safety seriously. While this post did not mention our school system specifically, we felt it was necessary to ensure parents that we are aware and are taking every precaution.
Our district and school administrators remain vigilant and continue to work closely with our School Resource Officers and local law enforcement partners to monitor concerns and maintain the safety and security of our schools.
We appreciate the continued partnership of our families and community. We encourage anyone who becomes aware of a potential safety concern to report it directly to school administration or law enforcement rather than sharing or reposting unverified information on social media.
The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority.
