On this Rivalry Week edition of Thankful Thursday, we’re celebrating the people behind the scenes who make Vidalia High School a special place to learn, work, and belong.

From the classrooms to the hallways, front office to the cafeteria, buses to ballfields, and everywhere in between, it takes an entire team investing in our students every single day.

Some of the most important work doesn’t always happen in the spotlight, but ELITE happens because of the people who show up, step in, and do what it takes.

Today, we see you. We appreciate you. And we’re thankful you’re part of our team.

COUCH POTATO DAY | FIND YOUR PASSION

You may see a few couch potatoes around VHS today, but when it comes to learning, our students aren’t sitting on the sidelines!

Through our CTAE programs and electives, students have opportunities to get up, get involved, and discover what they love. Whether they’re building skills for a future career, creating something new, developing leadership skills, or exploring a passion, there’s a place for every student to plug in at VHS.

Because being Built Different, Built Elite means giving students opportunities to find their strengths, develop real-world skills, and prepare for what comes next.

The fashion may be a disaster today, but your plans for the future don’t have to be!

As Rivalry Week continues, we’re highlighting an opportunity for our students to start thinking about what comes next with the PROBE College Fair.

Today's PROBE Fair gave our students the opportunity to connect with over 40 college representatives, explore postsecondary options, ask questions, and learn more about the paths available after high school.

At VHS, being Built Different. Built Elite. means preparing our students for more than what happens inside our walls. We want them ready for whatever comes next.

Congratulations to Mrs. Erica Palmer, Vidalia High School’s Teacher of the Year!

Mrs. Palmer’s dedication, persistence, and unwavering belief in her students embody what it means to be ELITE at VHS. Whether she is providing targeted reading intervention, teaching Literature, or challenging students in Advanced Composition, she is committed to helping every student grow as a reader, writer, thinker, and learner.

Her leadership, positive attitude, high expectations, and tenacity are evident every day. Mrs. Palmer maximizes every minute with her students, builds meaningful relationships, and, most importantly, refuses to give up on their ability to succeed.
