🚨 Drop, Cover, and Hold On! 🚨

Victor Valley College joined millions across the state in participating in the Great California ShakeOut, helping our campus community practice how to stay safe and prepared during an earthquake.

A special shoutout to Module 3 Academy Class 53, who partnered with the VVC Campus Police Department to assist with the event, support evacuation procedures, and help ensure a successful campuswide drill. Their professionalism and commitment to public safety provided valuable support while gaining real-world emergency management experience.

Preparedness starts with practice. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make safety a priority at VVC. 💙💛

🚨 Reminder: California Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill 10/15 (Tomorrow) 🚨

Victor Valley College will participate in the California Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill tomorrow, Thursday, October 15, at 10:15 a.m.

The campus-wide drill will include:

✅ Drop, Cover, and Hold On earthquake response
✅ Evacuation to designated assembly areas
✅ Coordination with Building Emergency Coordinators (BECs) and Building Emergency Staff (BES)

Why it matters:
Emergencies can happen without warning. Practicing our response helps ensure that students, faculty, and staff know what to do and where to go during a real emergency.

Please take the drill seriously, follow directions from emergency personnel and your BEC/BES representatives, and help make this an effective campus-wide preparedness exercise.

⚠️ Important Update:
Individuals assigned to evacuate to Lot Q should now report to Lot S. Due to the installation of solar panel structures, Lot Q is no longer considered a safe assembly area during an earthquake event.

🙏 Thank you for doing your part to keep VVC prepared, resilient, and safe.

If you have any questions, please 760-245-4271 ext. 2329.

Stay safe. Stay prepared. Stay ready. 🏛️💙💛
