Orange Grove Art Academy is currently closed for the fall and spring semester. Unfortunately our summer art camp is on hold due to Covid 19. Hope to have summer camp summer 2022.

Our super fun clay crabs were fired and brought back today and the kids got to paint them. They are so cute! They make me giggle. The afternoon class did such a great job with these little guys! My count is off so I forgot to get pics of a few of them. Message me a pic parents and I’ll add them in!

Today we finished our jellyfish! They were so fun and turned out great. Framed with a nice white matt border, these would be so lovely. Our afternoon class did an amazing job!

Today’s afternoon students learned about the German scientist and art illustrator Ernst Haeckel. He was born in the late 1800’s so we went way back in time! Students looked at jellyfish illustrations by Haeckel (that are truly stunning) and then drew their own jellyfish. We painted with a gel medium to create a resist, them painted over our jellyfish with warm watercolors. These will be finished tomorrow with cool colors around it and treated with salt! It will truly be a cool finish. Students will also finish up their clay sculptures tomorrow! It’s been a great week!
