Summer is finally here, but sometimes with the days/week feeling unstructured compared to the regular school year, we parents feel very lost! Try incorporating all (or even parts) of this summer schedule this week. Kids thrive with structure! ❤️🐻❤️

This week, educational leaders from across Texas gathered for three days of learning, collaboration, and professional growth at the TEPSA Summer Conference. We are proud that Schorlemmer Elementary was represented by Mrs. Wilkerson and Mrs. Garcia as they joined fellow leaders in learning from experts and one another to bring back new ideas that will benefit our students and staff.

Did you know? Mrs. Wilkerson also serves as the Region 3 TEPSA President, proudly representing 35 school districts across our region. In this leadership role, she works alongside administrators from throughout Region 3 to support campus leaders, promote excellence in education, and advocate for students across South Texas.

We are grateful for opportunities like these that allow our campus leaders to continue learning and growing so they can better serve the Schorlemmer community. ❤️🖤🐻

In the hustle and bustle of the last week of school, we didn’t get a chance to celebrate one very special moment—our amazing 5th graders’ Graduation Walk!

As they took their final walk through the halls of Schorlemmer Elementary, we couldn’t help but feel proud of all they have accomplished and excited for what lies ahead. Congratulations, 5th graders! We will miss your smiles, leadership, and Bear spirit.

We know you’re going to do great things in middle school and beyond. Remember, no matter where your journey takes you, you’ll always have a home here.

VISD campuses will observe summer closure dates. Campus closures are as follows:

Elementary campuses: June 8-July 13
Middle & high school campuses: June 23-July 1

Schorlemmer Office Hours for June 1-7th are 8:00-5:00 pm. (Closed Friday)

Beginning June 1 through July 30, 2026, the VISD Administration Building will operate on summer hours:

🗓 Monday–Thursday
🕗 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
🚫 Closed Fridays

Normal business hours will resume on Monday, August 4, 2026.

Please note: This adjusted schedule applies only to the VISD Administration Building. VISD campuses will also observe summer closure dates.
