For Women's History Month we're celebrating Jessie Field Shambaugh who is often referred to as the "Mother of 4-H". As an early pioneer for the hands-on program that 4-H has become today, Jessie started working with youth as a rural schoolteacher in Page County, Iowa back in 1901.
FUN fact: She is also credited with having developed the original three leaf clover with H's standing for Head, Heart and Hands. It wasn't until 1911 that the fourth H - for health - was added!
