Celebrating the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi 🐾

This past Friday, we gathered for our annual Pet Blessing in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. ❤️

We loved welcoming our preschool families and their beloved pets for this special tradition and giving thanks for the joy, companionship, and love they bring to our lives.

What a busy and wonderful first few weeks back at school! Our preschoolers have been learning classroom routines, making new friends, and already doing so much learning and growing together! 🍓🫐🌱🌻

September also brought some special visitors, including a visit from our Superintendent, Mr. Arvizzigno, and a classroom blessing from Father Edison. 💛✝️

We’re off to a great start and can’t wait for all that this school year has in store! Here are a few September snapshots! 📸

🎉 And just like that… we’re back! Our preschool entrance is again filled with shy smiles, excitement, nervous energy and hope for a productive year. That includes our students and their parents! Kudos to all for a really great first week.

Please note that our Preschool offices will be closed next week. Our preschool registration link will still be available and active on our website, any new registrations will be received automatically and then confirmed upon our return to the office. Incoming families enrolled at St. Patrick's Preschool can be on the lookout for your 2026-2027 class assignments and school year information arriving in your mailbox by mid August! 😀

What a special day at St. Patrick's Preschool! We had the honor to be visited by The Most Reverend John Bonnici, Bishop of the Diocese of Rochester and Rev. Aaron Kelly, Priest Secretary to Bishop Bonnici. Our young students have been eagerly awaiting this visit and were in awe watching him through the classroom windows as he arrived, he was like a celebrity! 😃 Bishop Bonnici shared a sweet story about the Good Shepherd, prayed for us, and reminded the students that Jesus is always there and to praise God with our smiles and cheers. Fr. Edison, students and staff gave a blessing upon the Bishop and the students sang "This Little Light of Mine" after presenting him with an appreciation gift. It was a blessed morning for all of us! 🥰

Our next spotlight is Karen Pearson! Karen teaches at St. Patrick's Preschool - Victor.

What grade level/content area do you teach? How many years have you been in education?
I teach pre-K four and five year olds and while this is my sixth year at St. Patrick’s Preschool, I have been in education since graduating from Roberts Wesleyan in 2005. I took time off to be a stay-at-home mom and then homeschooled my youngest daughter in pre-K when Covid hit. I also have experience in the special education field.

Do you have a hidden talent or fun fact that would surprise your students?
My students know my favorite animal is the elephant, but they would be surprised to hear how well I can imitate its trumpet sound!

What accomplishment of your students are you most proud of?
Some accomplishments I am most proud of is seeing my students treat their peers with empathy and kindness and their growth in learning what it means to love Jesus.

If you could pass along any wisdom to your students, what would you share?
If I could pass along any wisdom to my students, it would be from Miss Frizzle - “take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!"

Our PK-4/5s students learned about bus safety and took a ride on the school bus yesterday! Thank you Victor Central School bus drivers for visiting us at St. Patrick's! 🚍
