🙏🦅 CHAPEL THURSDAY 🦅🙏
What a blessing to have two meaningful chapel services on campus today!
💙 ELEMENTARY CHAPEL
Our elementary students were joined by Jessica Gain, Children’s Minister at First Baptist Church Vicksburg. Jessica reminded our students of the incredible truth found in Genesis 1:27 — we are created in the image of God!
She encouraged our students to remember that their value is not determined by what others think, how they look, what they can do, or how they compare to someone else. Each person has been intentionally created by God and bears His image. Because we are made in His image, we should also recognize the value God has placed in others and treat them with kindness, respect, and love.
📖 “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them…” — Genesis 1:27
✝️ SECONDARY CHAPEL
Our secondary students heard from Hunter Lynch of Highland Baptist Church, who shared from Luke 7 and the powerful story of the sinful woman who came to Jesus.
While Jesus was eating in the home of a Pharisee, the woman approached Him with humility and brokenness. She wept at His feet, wiped them with her hair, kissed them, and anointed them with perfume. Others saw her past and her sin — but Jesus saw her faith, repentance, and love.
Hunter reminded our students that none of us comes to Jesus because we have everything together. We come recognizing our need for grace. The woman’s tears demonstrated a heart that understood both the seriousness of her sin and the greatness of Christ’s forgiveness.
Jesus’ words to her are a beautiful reminder of the Gospel:
📖 “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” — Luke 7:50
We are thankful for Jessica and Hunter investing in our students and pointing them toward the truth of God’s Word!
At PCA, spiritual growth is an essential part of educating the whole student. We are grateful for opportunities each week to gather, worship, open Scripture, and remind our students of who they are in Christ.
