Student Highlight – Ivy Tech MVP Program 🌟

We’re proud to spotlight Ashton Purvis, one of our Madison Vocational Partnership (MVP) students for the upcoming school year! The MVP program connects students with hands-on, career-focused internships that align with their interests and local industry needs.

Ashton is currently gaining valuable experience as a Maintenance Intern at Kentucky Utilities, where he’s learning about mechanical systems, preventative maintenance, and the importance of safety in a high-energy environment.

Ashton shares:
“So far, this has been a great experience. I’ve really enjoyed the group of guys I’m working with. They’ve walked me through how the plant runs, answered my questions, and given me hands-on experience with the tools and equipment that keep everything operating safely and efficiently. I’m also earning while I learn—and getting my college paid for. It’s an excellent program to be a part of.”

We’re thrilled to see Ashton thrive in this high-demand field and grateful for partners like Kentucky Utilities who help power students’ futures!
