7th/8th Grade did a class activity look at the difference between being hunter-gathers and being an agricultural society as well as look at surviving alone vs surviving with each other. The kids did great and had fun while learning!

ANOTHER ECLIPSE! Eclipses have a tendency to occur as pairs or sets, and we won't have to wait very long for the next one. In two weeks, a partial LUNAR eclipse will be visible across much of the United States. Generally, I don't get too worked up over a partial lunar eclipse. However, this one will be a very deep 96.2% partial, meaning it's almost a total, leaving only a thin sliver of silver that could make the view that much more striking.

This will occur on the night of August 27-28. Much of the eastern half of the U.S. and Canada will be treated to the entire event. Obviously, we cannot yet reliably assess whether clouds will permit a view wherever you are located. Here's hoping Mother Nature is feeling generous!
