A Message to Our Parents & Community
We feel it is important to provide an update regarding the situation involving our previous treasurer, Jamie Maxwell, especially because the parents and community members who volunteer, participate, and help raise funds deserve to know what happened with the money they worked so hard to raise.
After months of uncertainty, questions, and waiting for answers, the case has now come to a conclusion. Jamie Maxwell was found guilty and has been ordered to repay $6,235 within one year.
As a Board, we accept the judgment and are ready to move forward. We understand that this situation has been frustrating and concerning for many people. When parents and community members give their time, energy, and hard-earned money to support our students, they deserve transparency and accountability. We take that responsibility seriously.
We cannot change what happened, but we can make sure we move forward with honesty, accountability, and a commitment to doing what is right for our students and our community.
We also want to be upfront about where we are as a Board moving forward. We are currently looking to elect new officers. Several of our current officers are struggling to find the time needed to take on all of the responsibilities that come with their positions. These roles take time, dedication, and commitment, and we want to make sure we have people in place who are able to give the organization the attention it deserves.
If you have ever thought about getting involved, now is a great time. We need parents and community members who are willing to step up, help, and be part of moving things forward.
And to everyone who continues to support our students — thank you!!! Truly. Every fundraiser, donation, volunteer hour, event, and contribution makes a difference.
Because of you, our students are able to experience field trips, educational opportunities, activities, and other experiences that they may not otherwise have. Those opportunities are possible because of the support of this community.
We are a small community, and our kids deserve people who are willing to show up for them.
We appreciate your continued support, your patience, and your trust. We are looking forward to moving forward together and continuing to make our students the priority.
