🔔MCR2 Reminder - Monday In School - Monday, October 12🐅

School is scheduled to be in session on Monday, October 12 for students and staff. We look forward to seeing our Tigers at school on Monday!

The additional Mondays on this year’s calendar do not represent a change in our commitment to the four-day school week. Missouri law limits how early school districts can begin the school year, and because Labor Day fell so late this year, we were not permitted to begin classes until the final week of August. That late start significantly reduced the number of instructional weeks available to us. In order to meet Missouri’s instructional requirements while still ending the school year before Memorial Day, it was necessary to schedule additional Mondays as student attendance days.

💡To wrap up their energy unit, Mrs. Carver's 4th grade students used a variety of classroom items to build a 4 step or more chain reaction! 🐅

In 4th grade, students learn that an object in motion processes energy. Faster-moving objects have more energy that slower-moving objects. Energy can move from place to place through sound, light, heat, and electrical currents. Energy can also be transferred during collisions. Energy can also be converted from one form to another and energy resources (both renewable and nonrenewable) can impact the environment around us.

The students were engaged throughout the lesson and worked very hard. Great job Tigers!

Yesterday, students in Donna Smiley’s Career Pathways for Teaching class went to the University of Central Missouri (UCM) in Warrensburg to attend the Future Teacher Academy.

The event is designed to provide valuable information and guidance for students interested in becoming educators. Our students participated in informative sessions designed and facilitated by UCM faculty.

Event: Versailles FFA BBQ & 50/50 Raffle
Location: Versailles High School Commons
Date: Saturday, October 10
Time: 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Cost: Adults - $12, Kids 6 and Under - $6 (Ticket prices will increase at the door to $15)

On the menu:
BBQ pork steak, loaded baked potato salad, baked beans, and dessert. They will also have an Alpha Gal friendly option available upon request.

Students in Arbrey Komrska’s elementary class recently made applesauce. They peeled, cored, and sliced the apples with their teacher’s help. Then, they place the apples, some cinnamon, apple juice/cider, and lemon juice in a pot and the teacher cooked the ingredients until the apples were soft. Next, they got to mash and blend the apples and add some sugar to sweeten it. Afterward, they got to enjoy the taste of all of their hard work. 😊🍎🐅

🐅Today we celebrate National Coaches Day & National Instructional Coaches Day!🖤💛

We are proud to recognize the dedicated coaches across the Morgan County R-II School District who encourage, guide, and support our Tigers each and every day.

A special thank you to our athletic coaches for the time, leadership, and commitment they give to student-athletes. We also want to extend our thank to your families for the many hours they spend supporting your efforts and give to supporting our student-athletes.

We also want to give a shout out to our instructional coach, Mrs. Bland, for supporting our teachers through collaboration, lesson planning, assessment, and more. The work she does in and out of the classroom to support our teachers, staff, and students makes a positive impact.

Thank you coaches for helping our Tigers learn, grow, and succeed - both in and out of the classroom. We appreciate you!
