NOW HIRING | Full-Time Evening Custodian

Morgan County R-II School District is accepting applications for a Full-Time Evening Custodian. If you take pride in your work and want to help provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students and staff, we encourage you to apply!

Starting Salary: $15.50

Essential Duties:
- Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and vacuum floors; empty trash and recycling.
- Sanitize restrooms, wipe desks and high-touch surfaces, restock supplies.
- Set up/tear down rooms for events and meetings.
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or vandalism.
- Perform minor repairs and operate custodial equipment safely.
- Assist with snow removal or weather-related duties as needed.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and follow safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently.

What a great night at Main Campus! 💛🖤

Teachers shared that this may have been our best-attended Open House yet — and there were plenty of smiling faces to prove it!

Thank you to all the families who joined us Thursday at Versailles Elementary, Versailles Middle School, and Versailles High School. We loved seeing everyone! Thank you to our faculty and staff who worked so very hard to prepare for this night.

👏 STAFF RECOGNITION | Facilities Team

At the August 17 Morgan County R-II Board of Education meeting, we were proud to recognize members of our Facilities Team (custodians, maintenance, and grounds) for the tremendous work they have done throughout the summer to prepare our schools for a new year.

From deep cleaning buildings and preparing classrooms to completing repairs, moving furniture, maintaining our grounds, and tackling countless projects across the district, this team has worked hard behind the scenes to make sure our schools are clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for students and staff.

Dr. Pettengill, Superintendent of Schools, shared: “Our facilities team takes tremendous pride in our schools, and it shows. They understand that a clean, safe, and welcoming school makes a difference for our students and staff, and I am incredibly proud of the work they do for our district.”

When students walk through our doors next week and find buildings ready to welcome them, that does not happen by accident. It happens because of the dedication of this team and others.

Little Tigers Early Learning Center Open House A Success!

Thank you to the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) parents and preschool parents who were able to join us for the Little Tigers Early Learning Center (LTELC) Open House yesterday evening in Gravois Mills. We loved meeting many of our newest and youngest Tigers. We also welcomed back some familiar faces.

The teachers and staff worked really hard at preparing their classrooms for the evening and for the first day. They all looked spectacular!

We look forward to starting the school year on Tuesday, August 25th!

Students and families are invited to attend Open House at Versailles Elementary School (VES), Versailles Middle School (VMS), and Versailles High School (VHS) on Thursday, August 20, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at our main campus in Versailles, Missouri.

This is a great opportunity to:
• Meet teachers and staff.
• Visit classrooms and school buildings.
• Learn about class expectations.
• Drop off school supplies and prepare for the first day of school.
• Stop by the Middle School Fitness room to pay your Chromebook Insurance Protection Plan fee and get it checked off your list (6th-12th)
• Ask questions and get ready for a great year ahead.

📣 The first day of school is almost here!📣

The 2026–2027 school year begins on Tuesday, August 25. We can't wait to welcome our Tigers back to school!

Here's are some quick reminder for families:
• Student drop-off begins at 7:15 a.m.
• Classes begin at 7:50 a.m.
• The school day ends at 3:30 p.m.

🚍 A little patience goes a long way during the first few days!
As new students, preschoolers, and kindergarteners learn routines and become familiar with locating their buses at the end of the school day, dismissal may take a little longer than normal. Buses may be delayed leaving the parking lot as we work to make sure every student locates their assigned school bus.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we begin another great school year. We look forward to Moving Forward. Together. 🐅🚌
