Yesterday, we wrapped up Band Camp 2026 with an outstanding preview show for our friends and family! We’re really proud of the progress made over the last few weeks, thankful for the incredible experience of hosting a drum corps and attending a drum corps competition as a group, and blown away by the attitude and work ethic this group has brought to rehearsals so far. Can’t wait for competition season! 🌊 🌙

Our last senior feature is our 2026 John Philip Sousa Award winner, Carly Dozier!

Carly plays clarinet and percussion, and has participated in Concert Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, and Percussion Ensemble

Honors: All-District Band, Solo & Ensemble

Favorite Memory: My last time performing at semifinals, the first thing I saw was Mrs. Collins with a huge smile on her face. In that moment I knew that no matter the placement or score, she was proud of us, and that’s all I needed.

Plans for next year: My plans for next year are to attend Western Kentucky University to major in Psychology. I also plan to be a part of the Big Red Marching Band!

Favorite Quote: “The only S word we use in here is success.” - Mrs. Collins

Message to the underclassmen: Don’t let one tough moment bring you down. There will be long rehearsals, frustrating runs, and days where it feels like nothing is clicking, but don’t let those moments get in your head because everyone struggles at some point. Pushing through those hard moments is what makes you better. Also, stay involved. The more you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it, not just as a musician, but in the friendships and memories too. Stick with it. I promise it’ll be worth it.

Congratulations, Carly!
