We had a good turnout for our two work days this weekend, and the weather was kind enough to cooperate. Our labyrinth was installed, the well-used playhouses removed, a play house assembled, landscape weeded, mulch spread, fire pole secured, a gate installed, a bridge built, walls wiped, baseboard attached, shelves built, and walls touched up with paint.

Our volunteers were: Buck, Alison, Joey & Quinn Schott, Alex Tingle, Chris & Crew Wood, Bekah Music, Caz Suri, Stefan du Plessis, Megan & Mac Vance, Vivian Richmond, Tony Lucido, Austin Shields, Alex, Colleen, Evie & Henry Courtwright, Stephanie, Matt & Archer Wooten, Alana, Ande & Briggs Boyd, Ali, Lamar, Zay, Luca & Ari Guagliardo, Miao & Waylon Liang, Amy Ford, Kenzie Salva, Orsola di Cugno, and Stephanie & Eleanor Sandknop.

Our VMS Village came together and accomplished many projects.

Big changes are currently underway at VMS this week!

Today is the first day of our Wildflower Club!

Four elementary girls came up with the idea, planned the lessons, decided on books to read, and developed craft plans. Stephanie was around for guidance, but these girls did it all!

Today they filled pots and planted seeds. In the future they have plans to bring the greenhouse back to life.

We love seeing our elementary kids come up with big ideas!

WANTED! Be on the lookout for this dangerous band of outlaws. Rumor has it, they will be riding east into Lexington tonight, spreading their message of Montessori and looking to steal your hard earned gold!

This posse is led by Tony “the roads are fine” Guagliardo, and Monty the Catnapper.

When that sunbeam hits, and you just can’t fight it anymore.

We love the nature and are thrilled to have so many windows in our classrooms to let in the natural light. Especially when the Kentucky weather makes its sudden shift from 75 degrees to 35 degrees overnight!

If you’ve been in the school recently, you’ve probably seen this amazing human working hard on not one but TWO custom quilts this year!

Both the toddler program and the primary program will have beautiful, handmade quilts to auction off at the Gala this year thanks to the time and skill of Colleen Courtwright.

Take a look at the finished quilts hanging in the media center and make a plan to bring one home on Gala night!
