Friendly reminder from the messages that were sent out a couple of weeks back that our 5th grade orientation has been rescheduled for Wednesday, August 26th from 6:30-7:15 in the theatre!

Additionally: Folder pick-up will continue until Friday from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m and again Monday, August 24th through Wednesday the 26th from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Our 2026 Recipients: Brooke Bruns

Brooke Bruns was diagnosed in January 2026 with Chiari Malformation along with a significant syrinx (cysts in spinal cord and brainstem), as well as two cysts in her brain that are believed to be benign. These conditions affect the brain and spinal cord and require careful monitoring and specialized care moving forward. Due to a complete blockage of her spinal fluid and the presence of the syrinx, Brooke underwent decompression brain surgery at Cincinnati Children’s. The main goal of the surgery was to restore proper spinal fluid flow and remove the blockage. We are grateful to share that the surgery was considered a success, and Brooke is doing well and healing. However, she still has cysts in her spinal cord and brainstem. The hope is that with the spinal fluid now flowing, these cysts will begin to shrink on their own without intervention. An MRI is scheduled in July to monitor her progress. Throughout the rest of her life, Brooke will need to be closely monitored to ensure nothing progresses. While she is doing well right now, it’s clear she has a long road ahead of her. Funds raised will help support Brooke’s medical care and ongoing needs. Your support, prayers, and kindness mean so much to her and her family as they remain hopeful for continued healing.
