house an art gallery and provide space for music lessons. Our purpose is to encourage and support participation, education, and enjoyment of visual and performing arts by all and to advance excellence in the presentation of cultural activities in the region of Western PA.

The world has lost a remarkable musician and an even more remarkable person. Just days before his 100th birthday, Joe Negri passed away, leaving behind a legacy that touched generations of musicians and music lovers.
I was fortunate to perform with Joe when he appeared as a guest soloist with the Butler Symphony. Despite his accomplishments, he treated everyone with genuine kindness and respect. He was warm, funny, and gracious, and he had a way of putting everyone around him at ease.
Years later, when my son Ray was about ten years old, he attended a guitar camp at Duquesne University where Joe was teaching. Joe took the time to speak with him, encourage him, and make him feel important. It was a small gesture, but one that left a lasting impression.
Joe Negri was an extraordinary musician, teacher, and ambassador for the arts. More importantly, he was a truly good man. We are grateful for the time we had with him and for the example he set through both his music and his character.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, students, and all whose lives he touched. Bonnie Myers-Toward

Before and after photos. Huge remodel! We did so much of this ourselves but for the first time but what you'll see today is thanks to Cousins Construction, PaintBlast Pros and Commonwealth Bank. No, we are not the Spiral Staircase. We are the Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts, a full service music store and our nonprofit, the WPCA Academy! Currently we are working on new signage.

We couldn't be more proud of these students from the WPCA Academy String Orchestra and Wind Ensemble! They performed on May 16th at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. Schools represented are Shadyside Academy, CAPA, Plum, Penn Hills and Riverview.
Directors are Mrs. Bonnie Myers-Toward and Mrs. Kip Johnston.
