Vote YES for the VASD referendum!

Why is this important?

The referendum, at no new cost to the taxpayer will allow the district to:

Hire the best teachers in a very competitive market.

Expand much-needed programs for all of our students.

Why can’t the state pay for this?

The Republican-controlled legislature gave a zero % increase to Wisconsin public schools in an inflationary year!!

The Referendum:

The VASD district is asking the taxpayers to allow us to transfer money from the Capital Budget to the Operations Budget to help hire new teachers and expand programs.

The district will be able to give the teachers a cost of living increase.

No increase to the mil rate - in other words, any increase to your taxes will NOT be due to this referendum.

PLEASE VOTE YES ON NOV. 8TH !!

Please join us Thursday, November 3 at the Draft House for another afternoon of pizza, and beverages, to support the VASD referendum.

In order to succeed, we need YOUR participation. Bring a colleague and enjoy the camaraderie.

Letters to the Editor must be submitted by NOON on Friday, October 21 for publication on October 27. Letters can be no more than 400 words long and should be emailed to [email protected].

You must include your name and location on the letter. Jonah Doe, Fitchburg or Janiyah Doe, Verona is fine; you don’t have to include your full address. You can also submit a letter through the papers’ online forms here - https://www.veronapress.com/site/forms/online_services/letter_editor/

Because of Parent/Teacher Conferences occurring in too many buildings today, the VAEA/VESPA Work Night for the referendum (scheduled for the Draft House) tonight has been canceled and the NEW date is: Thursday, November 3 from 3:30-5:30

However, if you can attend the Referendum Information Session at the Boys and Girls Club also on 10/18 (TONIGHT) from 6-7pm, we'd love to see you! We need VAEA/VESPA presence at these sessions in support of the referendum!
