Private Pilot students have been bewildered by the new and modified questions on the FAA PAR Knowledge Test. Most of the typical vendors of Test Prep material have bot updated their own data bases, and students who consistently achieve greater than 90% in trial tests are scoring in the 80's.

Something is wrong with this picture ....
Hydroplaning, T-tail stalls, Stabilized Approach, Dust Devil, and more. It seems that there is less emphasis on calculations, and more sceario-based or rote memory questions.

Both the private pilot and commercial pilot test times will be reduced by 30 minutes. The private pilot test will go from 150 minutes to 120 minutes, and the commercial pilot test time limit will change from 180 minutes to 150 minutes. Additionally, five unscored validation questions will be added to each test STARTING on Mar 21, 2023.
