Functional fixedness.... The term we're using in our home for when you use something out of the ordinary as a tool in the process of creativity.
Mia spent 11.46mins looking for natural items to construct a footpath over rushing water to get to a large boulder.
She used logs and sticks as levers, steps and even a bendable branch as a rope.
She used heavy rocks to build dams to redirect water and to build on stepping stones
She pondered, processed and produced problem solving techniques to achieve a goal.
This is functional play, freely chosen, moving at her own pace and ended when she reached the boulder.
While I have the full video ready...perhaps ill break em down into reels. THOUGHTS?
