Always looking for members, ideas, input, and volunteers!

Good evening!
It's almost back to school time! That being said, our students returning this year are in need of some items that we are hoping our community can help us with: UNIFORMS. Our kids need uniforms to help them look and feel their best to foster a focused and cohesive learning environment. As we have mentioned previously, our facility as well as many of our students are considered well below poverty level and/or foster children that do not have the resources available to them that others may have.
Donations of school uniforms can be dropped off at the M'Ink House Tattoo Company front desk 7 days a week, 12 p.m.- 9 p.m. From there, all donations will be inventoried and taken to the school for the students. Our deadline is Saturday, August 5th so we can be sure to have all items to the school and separated into correct sizes for the students by orientation day and subsequently their first day back. 😀

We only need:
*White collared uniform shirts. Seriously, ONLY white shirts. 😅
*Blue, Tan, or Black uniform pants.
***Sizes range from middle school to high school age children. A variety of small, medium, and large shirts and pants for both boys and girls will be perfect.

Also!
If you are cleaning out closets or getting your children new clothes and getting rid of their gently used clothes (non-uniform items): you can still donate them to the GIANT white drop box in the Indian River Prep parking lot entrance on 19th St. These clothing donations raise money that goes directly to the school for school supplies and equipment, special events and learnig experiences for students, etc.
As always, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! We appreciate all of the support as we try to help our young leaders navigate this next chapter in their lives!

While we are hoping everyone has a wonderful and relaxing summer break, we are busy bees already starting to plan for the coming school year. We have been hard at work trying to think of ways to help our students and teachers slide into the routine effortlessly. As I am sure most of you know, our school and most students and teachers are underfunded and overlooked. We feel that there is a great deal of missed opportunity in changing the lives of these young leaders for a more positive outcome for themselves and their respective communities. It starts with the teachers influencing them daily.
Attached is a message from Ms. Chasteen, a wonderful young lady transitioning into an instructive role with the students. She is hoping to get some help warming up her new classroom for her first class ever. Thank you all so very much, and please help any way you can, even if it's a simple share of this post. 😊

"Hello!
My name is Morgan Chasteen and I work with thebstudents at I.R. Prep. I figured I would reach out and try to gather some support by sharing my wish list for my classroom this upcoming year."

"This year I am making a huge teaching career shift from 'Self Contained Special Education' to teaching English/Reading to middle school students at I.R. Prep. With this being said I am starting entirely from scratch with my class and need all new items! My goal is to create a welcoming, loving, and interactive educational environment for my students to not only be excited to come to, but to also feel safe and heard. Please check out my list and feel free to share as well even if you cannot donate! Thanks for all the support in this new journey!"

Hello WONDERFUL COMMUNITY,

Thank you for your continued time and support of what we do here in our area. March was a productive month thanks to you all!

This month we are delivering to all new teachers a packet of School Supplies starting with Elementary Schools, Middle Schools and High School Including Charter Schools in North part of Indian River County until School Supplies run out. The Schools involved will be Storm Grove to the North including Charter Schools. During the summer we do a School Supply Drive and when students return to school, School Supplies are distributed as requested by teachers and staff of North Indian River County Schools. The remaining School Supplies are given out to the new teachers after Spring Break. A new teacher is the staff member who teachers and provides grades for their students. A new teacher can have held other positions at the school they are teaching at and have taught at other schools but never taught before at the school they are at now in North part of Indian River County Schools.

Scholarships available at this time are

This Scholarship is available to seniors not living at home attending Sebastian River High School to cover expenses during their Sebastian River High School senior year.

This month, a lunch will be provided to the front desk from Sandwich Shack special menu to Sebastian Elementary, Pelican Island Elementary, Liberty Magnet and Treasure Coast Elementary School. These Schools staff have contacted us to trade paper for their Ink Cartridges and the front desk has made it possible to complete this efficiently and correctly.

We're going to say it out loud:
The instructors and staff on our campus have their work cut out for them!!!

Our student body is comprised of students that are here based on behavioral issues; we like to think of them as the strong minded young leaders that just haven't had the right guidance to help steer them into more constructive behavior patterns. We are here for this! However...
Our instructors are here with these children day in and day out giving it their all. We feel a big thank you is LONG overdue for the staff at Indian River Prep for doing their best to guide and nurture these young minds daily despite the challenges!
Do you have an idea of what we could do to show our appreciation?
Do you own a business or sell a product you would be willing to negotiate a bulk/group discount or donation of goods or services for roughly 30 staff members?
Please let us know!
Teacher appreciation week is May 8th through May 12th.
Thank you all for your support!!!
