Sixty golfers hit the course at the Hillcrest Country Club Saturday morning for Vernon ISD's 4th Annual Lions Roar Golf Tournament. The scores were low and the temperatures high, which made for a lot of shot making, laughing, sweating and having fun. During VISD's teacher/staff professional development last week one of the sessions was led by our Director of Safety and Security Lt. Autumn Thames. She gave a presentation on VISD's safety policy and procedures for various emergency situations. Keeping our students safe during school and while they are on our campuses is a top priority for Vernon ISD.

Our Roarin' Lion Band has been working hard these last two weeks, learning the music and the marching formations they will be entertaining the crowds with during the football game halftime shows. Due to work being down to lay down new turf at Lion Stadium, the band practiced marching on a mat in the P.E. Gym.

We will be welcoming all of our students to our campuses on Monday for Meet The Teacher Night! Between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m....

We will be welcoming all of our students to our campuses on Monday for Meet The Teacher Night! Between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., students and their families can stop by their campus to pick up their schedules and meet their teachers! We look forward to seeing everyone!
