Big things are happening at Vernon College — and today, we got to show them off.

TACC (Texas Association of Community Colleges) was here filming for a statewide video highlighting the impact of Texas community colleges. Only two colleges were selected for the project: Vernon College and San Jacinto College.

We were proud to put our best foot forward — from our state-of-the-art labs and industry partnerships to our outstanding students and faculty who make it all happen.

We may be a small college. But when it comes to innovation, opportunity, and preparing students for what’s next, we’re right at the cutting edge.

Okay, you’ve had your warning. Now it’s time to do the thing.

The Vernon College scholarship application is OPEN for 2027–28!

More than $500,000 in scholarships is available to Vernon College students. And before you decide “I probably won’t qualify,” remember: these are merit-based, not income-based, and students with a 2.0 GPA or higher are encouraged to apply.

So take a few minutes, give it a shot, and let’s see what happens.

We know. You JUST started this school year. And now we’re asking you to think about next fall.

Rude? Maybe.
Worth it? Absolutely.

Scholarship applications for 2027–28 open October 1, and Vernon College has more than $500,000 in scholarships to offer our students.

That could make a very nice difference when you’re figuring out how to pay for next year.

These are merit-based, not income-based, and students with a 2.0 GPA or higher are encouraged to apply.

So go ahead. Do something nice for next-year you.

Give it a shot. You could have a lot less to worry about when fall 2027 rolls around.
