We have multiple voice recitals every year and offer students the opportunity to compete at several statewide voice competition as well as two national competitions. Sing Studios ha

s a reputation for producing champions. we can never guarantee an outcome for any student, but we can help support them as they discover their own potential. Even more importantly we let students from this small area compete with students from much larger communities. This allows them to be prepared for the "big wide music world" when they leave high school. Teacher Sarah Shoemaker has taken private voice lessons since elementary school. She was also a voice major at CMU. She has been teaching since 2006. Sarah has directed musicals at The R***e and at Maple Valley High School. She has studied alongside Broadway veteran Mark Ruhala, studied under Felicia Ricci, Marissa Del Campo, and more. The studios results speak for themselves. We have become recognized as one of the strongest and most competitive voice studios in the state. Come check us out!

The talent show will be held on Friday, April 26th at the Vermontville Maple Syrup Festival, following the tradition of past years.

Any amateur who wishes to compete should sign up at [email protected]. Sign ups will close on April 25th at midnight.

Now that I have gotten to tell all of my current students in person it is time I make a public announcement. After 16 years of teaching, the studio is closing down.

I will no longer be offering weekly lessons.

Teaching has been a huge part of my life and a joy all of these years. My children are getting more involved in activities as they get older and as much as I love teaching I love being a Mom more. I want to be present at their games, practices, shows, etc.

I will still offer lessons on a feelance basis. Meaning if there is an audition coming up or a competition I may be available to help you prepare. I will still be participating in MMA for my own children, so if any of my students dont find a teacher who competes at MMA they can sign up and go with me still.

I love all of my students and teaching has been such a huge part of my life. I am so thankful for all of the families I have gotten to be a part of over the years and all of your support. I will still cheer you on at shows and concerts!

I look forward to this next chapter of my life with my kids. I may re-open the studio after the kids graduate high school and I have more time, but that is 13 years away. 😬

Thank you again for all of your support. If you need help finding an amazing teacher, I would be happy to direct you to one of 5 teachers I can recommend. I invite everyone to come to my very last recital at the end of August. If you are a past student you are welcome to sing as well!

I just got word that my friend Jami (another teacher from nationals) is positive for covid.

I did take an at home test that was negative, but I slept the entire day yesterday and have some other symptoms.

In order to limit exposure lessons will be available via zoom only on Thursday. You are welcome to skip Thursday as we normally do the week after competition, but I am willing to try and do them via zoom.

Whew! Nationals are OVER and we are home! It was a whirlwind of a weekend to be sure.

I am so proud of every. single. student.

Some came home with trophies and some didnt do as well, but it was NATIONALS. The competition in the open division was stronger than I have ever seen it.

Just wow.

Anyways the placings you have all been waiting for:

We had some singers scoring as high as a 98 or 99 and still not placing, which is INSANE. The competition was truly feirce.
