Our Vision: To Coordinate Collaborative Efforts That Fund Shared Priorities of the Educational Experience. The Vermillion Public Schools Foundation (VPSF) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation. The primary purpose of this corporation is to benefit the education of Vermillion, SD students K-12. VPSF is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. VPSF goals include securing private funding for innovative projects which cannot be funded by local, state, or federal dollars. Securing private funding to enrich existing curricular, co-curricular and extra curricular programs. Coordinating efforts of the Community to bring about positive change in the school system. Work with the Vermillion School District to make Vermillion Public Schools the best school district in South Dakota. Provide continuing educational opportunities for students, teachers, and administrators.

The 2026 - 2027 School Year will be starting soon! The VPSF had the pleasure of greeting the 8 new teachers and the new counselor to the Vermillion School District with a welcome package.

A huge Thank You to all the local sponsors who made the welcome package possible! Sponsors include: VCDC, the Charlie USD store, USD Athletics, Vermillion Light and Power, Vermillion City Hall, Coyote Twin, Vermillion High School Booster Club, and the Vermillion Public Schools Foundation.

Make sure your children stay fueled, healthy, and ready for summer fun with the SUN Meals Program! Free meals are available for all children 18 years old and younger.

Thank you to the Vermillion Parks and Recreation Department for this marker recognizing the location of Vermillion's Jolley Elementary School.

Vermillion Parks & Recreation was proud to unveil the Jolley School Commemorative Marker to the Vermillion Historic Preservation Commission today.
This project helps preserve an important piece of our community’s history, and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Griffin Masonry for their outstanding work on the commemorative post.
We would also like to give a huge thank you to Justin at Vermillion Auto Works for generously donating his time, skills, and materials to refurbish the original Jolley School recess bell, which is proudly displayed on the post.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this meaningful project possible and continue preserving Vermillion’s rich history for future generations.
