Center For Children and Families

Thanks to all the rain and a sump pump not working, our Friday at the Center was a doozy.

Our entire basement flooded overnight. Our basement is used for indoor gross motor play, art, storage, and staff rooms. Every single room was affected.

We want to give a HUGE shout out and thank you to The Drain Doctor of Yankton for finding the cause and getting our pumps back up and running! And another HUGE thanks to Louie’s Cleaning & Disaster Restoration for their hours of hard work to get the water out and mitigate damage! We seriously couldn’t have done this without you both and your speedy response!

Now we get to clean up and hope we got it all quick enough!

The Center is in need of two rocking glider chairs for our infant room to replace a couple that have reached their end. If anyone has any in good condition they’re trying to get off their hands, please let us know!

At the Center, we are celebrating Week of the Young Child. The National Association for the Education of Young Children uses this week to recognize the learning and growth of children, their families, and the programs that help them. At the Center, our kiddos have done many fun activities that correspond with each day of the week’s activity put forth by the NAEYC. Friday is for family and resources. For this, our lead preschool lead Miss Mae and toddler lead Miss Consquela have set up a family movie night package for our kids and their families to enjoy some popcorn and a movie. We are so excited to be able to be apart of the learning journey of all our children and their families!
