The University of South Dakota has welcomed its newest incoming class and continues to see strong enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year.

Fall enrollment has reached more than 10,000 students for the third consecutive year, including nearly 1,200 first-time freshmen across its Vermillion and Sioux Falls campuses.

This year marks the third annual trip USD archeology students have taken to historic Fort Meade to explore “Soap Suds Row,” the living area of laundresses who cleaned the soldiers' uniforms.
