This weekend, USD Nurse Anesthesia students joined anesthesia professionals from across South Dakota at the annual SDANA Conference in Sioux Falls. Our students gained valuable insights through educational sessions, networking opportunities, and engagement with the broader CRNA community. We are proud of the way they represented USD and the future of nurse anesthesia!

Exciting news from the University of South Dakota Nurse Anesthesia Program!

This year, we received an incredible 385 applications for our January 2027 cohort. After a highly competitive selection process, 56 applicants were invited to interview, and interviews wrapped up last week.

Over the next few weeks, we will offer admission to 20 future CRNAs as we prepare to welcome our fifth cohort to the program in January 2027. 🎓🩺

We are humbled by the interest in our program and grateful for the faculty, students, alumni, and clinical partners who help make this achievement possible. We can’t wait to meet the next generation of nurse anesthesia leaders! 🐾❤️🖤

Sanford Health Network Scholarship Awarded

Sanford Health supports lifelong learning and is pleased to offer financial support for students who are continuing education in a field that can enhance their contributions to our community. Sanford Health Network is pleased to offer a $2,000.00 scholarship opportunity to students pursuing a post-secondary degree in a healthcare-related field. By offering this scholarship, we are making an investment in our region’s future workforce and the communities we serve.

This year, Sanford Health chose Mckenzie Garrison to receive this scholarship. Mckenzie attends the University of South Dakota and will graduate with her Bachelor Degree in Nursing in May of 2027. Congratulations Mckenzie!
