In honor of our Accounting Institute's 20th anniversary, we expanded this year's series to USD-Sioux Falls, and the response has been incredible.

Germany Trade Mission 2026

This experience was an incredible opportunity for our students to engage in global business firsthand—from connecting with South Dakota companies abroad to visiting international organizations, attending a major global trade show, and strengthening partnerships with our colleagues at Ostfalia University.

Beacom School of Business Students Expand Learning on International Trade Mission to Germany Students from the University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business recently participated in an international trade mission to Germany, gaining firsthand experience in global business operations, international trade and cross-cultural collaboration.

Today marked our final day in Wolfsburg with our partners at Ostfalia University, where we had meaningful discussions focused on enhancing and strengthening our international partnership opportunities for students and faculty.

After our meetings, we visited Autostadt and toured Volkswagen, gaining insight into the evolution and innovation of the auto industry and the global impact of one of Germany’s most recognized companies. And of course seeing some sweet cars!!!

From Wolfsburg, we loaded back into the van and headed east to Berlin for the final leg of our Germany Trade Mission. As we arrive in Germany’s capital city, we look forward to finishing the trip strong with more government education at the embassy and historical site seeing.

Our latest adventures in Germany have been both exciting and educational as we continue our South Dakota Trade Mission experience.

We had the opportunity to visit the breathtaking Neuschwanstein Castle, where we learned more about the history and culture that make Germany so unique.

We also toured the headquarters and production facilities of AVO-Werke August Beisse GmbH and CLAAS Combine headquarters, gaining valuable insight into international business operations, manufacturing, and agricultural innovation.

Today, we spent time with our sister university, Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, in Wolfsburg where we participated in a campus tour, classroom discussions, and collaborative learning opportunities with students and faculty.

These experiences continue to expand our understanding of global trade, business relationships, and cultural exchange. We are incredibly grateful for the hospitality and learning opportunities we have received throughout this journey and look forward to the remainder of the trip.

Our students are all over the world this summer! South Dakota Trade Mission group spent the day at the Interzoo Trade Show where we had the opportunity to visit and support several South Dakota businesses exhibiting internationally.

Students learned firsthand about global business operations, international trade relationships, and the importance of expanding South Dakota products and services into worldwide markets.

The final days of the Beacom School of Business Global Immersion trip brought together unforgettable business insights, cultural experiences, and incredible memories across Spain. Students had the opportunity to visit Esteve and Endesa, gaining firsthand perspectives on innovation, leadership, and global business strategy.
Beyond the business visits, we explored the rich history and culture of Madrid, Segovia, Barcelona, and Girona — from historic streets and stunning architecture to vibrant local traditions. We wrapped up the experience with a farewell dinner filled with traditional Spanish dishes, great conversation, and reflection on an unforgettable journey together.
