The Class of 2027 participated in a VUHS tradition this past Thursday! They raised over 2,000 for the Commodore Club. Each year the senior class picks an organization to fundraise for and does a Walk-A-Thon.

This year, they walked to Kingsland Bay for a class lunch and time to connect. Then many of them walked all the way back!

More than half the class participated. The Commodore Club is a great organization in our community. Thank you 2027!

We had a special guest at FCS this week: Ted Scheu, also known as “The Poetry Guy”! Ted is a local poet and former teacher who writes funny, thoughtful poems for kids. During his poetry workshop, our students had the chance to explore their own ideas and voices as writers.

Disappointed you missed out on this opportunity? Well, you're in luck! Ted will be emceeing our Garden Party next Tuesday, September 29th, 5:00-7:30 at FCS and facilitating a mini family poetry workshop after dinner!

Thank you, Ted, for sharing your love of poetry with us as part of our CLiF Year of the Book! 📚 ✏️
