School Closure Notice
Gov. Greg Abbott has declared a Public Health Disaster and has directed all schools to close through April 3, 2020 in an effort to prevent further spread of COVID-19. Venus ISD joins other districts across the state in complying with the declaration and extending our current closure through April 3, at which time state and health department officials will reassess the situation. The suspension of all extra-curricular activities, practices, travel, and use of facilities has also been extended through April 3. The University Interscholastic League has also notified public schools that UIL games and contests will resume no earlier than Monday, May 4th.
Although campuses are closed, student instruction will continue. Venus ISD will begin virtual instruction for our students on Monday, March 30, 2020, and will provide further details as they become available. Each Venus ISD family can expect to receive a phone call the week of March 23 so we can partner with parents to best serve your child during this unique and challenging time.

We strongly urge Venus ISD families to avoid travel and attending large gatherings to prevent the spread of the virus. In the event that we need to facilitate online learning for our students, we will provide instructions and resources at that time. The Venus ISD website, www.venusisd.net, will be updated with the most current information as it becomes available. To report a confirmed exposure to COVID-19, please email [email protected].
