June 12th in Ventura, California - is officially official with Dej "Nokweed" Sri-Ampai attending as special guest instructor.

With 30+ years of officiating experience around the globe and helping to pioneer infrastructure that we all benefit from today. He's worked with many of the state boxing commissions to help train and build regulations to allow Muay Thai to even be legal including up into Canada as well as into Mexico and Central America.

Being a native Thai national and fluent in English with his vast level of experience is very uncommon. Nokweed is currently retired from officiating and is opening up to help the next generation of officials here at SIAM Standard.

First, the online certification ($297)
• 2 years of access
• 13+ structured lessons
• Covers referee, judge, timekeeper, and inspector roles
• Rules, scoring, positioning, and ring conduct
• 3 assessments + 100-question final exam (85% to pass)

We’re excited to announce a guest presenter for the SIAM Standard Muay Thai Officials Workshop.

Master Bob Karmel will be joining us to teach the Inspector portion of the course.

Bob has been actively involved with the United States Muay Thai Association (USMTA ) for decades and has played an important role in helping shape Muay Thai in the United States.

During the workshop, Bob will cover the role of the Inspector, one of the most important positions in combat sports events.

Inspectors are responsible for:

• Fighter check-ins
• Equipment and glove inspection
• Hand wrap oversight
• Monitoring corner conduct
• Ensuring compliance with bout rules and safety procedures

Bob will also be sharing industry-specific insight on common ways people attempt to cheat in combat sports — and how officials can properly identify and prevent these situations.

It’s a role that often goes unnoticed by fans, but is absolutely essential to fighter safety and event integrity.

We’re honored to have Bob join us and share his experience with officials looking to raise the professional standard of Muay Thai officiating.

Many Muay Thai events rely on officials trained in boxing or MMA.

But Muay Thai has its own judging criteria, fight rhythms, protocols, and rule interpretations.

Without proper training:

• Judges mis-score fights
• Referees miss fouls
• Inspectors fail to catch safety issues

SIAM Standard was created to help raise the professional standard of Muay Thai officiating to help setup officials for success & understand the differences involved. Our standards align with many boxing commissions code of conduct.

Our training focuses specifically on Muay Thai officiating, not generic combat sports judging.

Participants will learn:

• Muay Thai judging methodology
• Referee positioning and control of the bout
• Inspector responsibilities and fighter safety
• Pre-fight checks and ring procedures
• Corner conduct and rule enforcement
