Congratulations to all of these Choir and Musical graduates! I am so lucky that I got to know you and sing with you. Thank you for a wonderful past four years!!!

Thank you to everyone who made last night’s banquet a success! It was wonderful getting to celebrate students and look back over the past year. We are going to miss our seniors tremendously, but we look forward to the new opportunities that next year will bring!

Save the date! Friday, May 22nd, 2026, from 6-9 pm - Vocal & Jazz Showcase in the McConnell Auditorium

The Balboa Choir, the Buena Choir, and the Buena Jazz Ensemble will be showcasing their talent and hard work at our end-of-year concert on Friday, May 22nd at 6 pm! In between each ensemble, students will be performing various songs of their choosing, so you won’t want to miss out! Admission is free, so come on out to support the arts and enjoy some amazingly talented musicians!

Thank you so much to the Ventura Education Partnership and all of their donors for making this years Fall VEP grants possible! Tegan did a great job spearheading the student grant writing process for Choir, and was able to raise $1,000 for this year’s CD project! It was a privilege to get to honor her, and all of the other grant winners at tonight’s Celebrate event! Congrats to everyone who was awarded a grant, and thank you so much to everyone who works so hard to make this extra funding available to VUSD students and staff. We are beyond grateful!

Thank you to our Choir volunteers and to everyone who bought pineapple fried rice from Lucky Thai Cuisine during today’s Food Faire at Buena High School. We sold out in the middle of lunch, and hope everyone enjoyed the delicious food! Thanks to for hosting another successful Food Faire for the clubs !

The Buena High School Choir went to a Southern California Vocal Association festival hosted by Santa Paula High School on Friday, March 13th and received a “Superior” rating - the highest rating possible! The students have been working hard to push themselves to learn and grow, and they made their community proud. If you’d like to hear them, save the date for their Vocal and Jazz Showcase on Friday, May 22nd in the McConnell Auditorium at Buena High School!

Thank you to the BHS Black Student Union for once again hosting an amazing Black History Month Door Contest! We can’t wait to see everyone’s doors, and we are so grateful for the impact you have on our district! Thanks and congrats to Nolan & Tegan for their amazing vision, dedication, collaboration, and artwork. It’s wonderful to have such a beautiful door to walk by each day, and to inspire us with the amazing example of Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole! .walton9
