At Chicken Camp, trainers use clickers and food rewards to teach chickens specific tasks—like targeting objects, navigating obstacles, or choosing colors. The chickens aren't the real students, though.

Because chickens learn quickly and don't "fill in the blanks" when trainers make mistakes, they provide instant feedback on timing, clarity, and reinforcement
skills. If your training mechanics are off, the chicken lets you know immediately.

Come (Puppy Pickle) 🐶

I will be teaching you how to teach recall or come.

✅ Use some very high high value treats, like chicken or hot dogs or something your dog really loves when you teach this, and you want to be consistent with it.

✅ Your dog will run between two people and get treats as they learn the word come.

✅ If you don’t have a partner you can toss a treat away from you and then call them back to you.

❌ Do not do anything your dog perceives as negative.
If they don't like to go in their crate, don't say come, and then stick them straight in the crate.

✅ Do something that separates the two behaviors.

✅ Take time and care when you're teaching come to make sure it's fun, and they enjoy it, and the value is high that you give them.

🐶The great thing about Puppy Pickle is that as your dog gets really good at it, you can turn this into hide and seek. Have Fun!🐶

Body language

What your dog is telling you when they have different body language.

It's so important as pet parents that we understand dog body language. It's something that a lot of us don't know, but it's so, so important. Because when our dogs are doing different body postures or reacting in different ways,

✅ If we really are careful when we watch their body language, we will understand what their emotional state is, what they're feeling, and maybe a little bit about what they' they're thinking.

✅ If our dog's ears go back or tail tucks when someone approaches or another dog approaches, they're trying to express that they're a little uncomfortable.

✅ If your dog gets really exuberant and they're wiggle in their whole body, then you know they're probably really happy.

✅ But sometimes they have more subtle clues,
yawn when they're a little bit stressed or they might just do little lips with their tongue.

✅ It's super important that you watch your dogs because you can prevent bites, you can prevent a lot of problems.

✅ If you're just paying attention to those little cues, because oftentimes they will give us subtle little cues well before they are barking, growling or lunging, or showing other signs of fear.

✅ If you know what your dog's body language is, it helps you communicate with them.

✅ So if I see that my dog's tail's tucked, I'm going to check out the environment. What might be so scary? Sometimes they need to get out of that environment or away from that person or that dog.

✅ The more we pay attention and the more we really honor their feelings, the better they're going to do in certain situations and the more our bond is going to grow because they will trust us even more.

✅ Next time your animal or your dog is doing some different body language, you're not sure of, really check it out and think about where their emotional state might be.
