Blind spots are areas on either side of your vehicle where you cannot easily see other cars or objects in your rear or side-view mirrors or within your peripheral vision. To avoid causing a collision with a vehicle in your blind spot, you should position your mirrors to give you the best view out of the rear of your car and to the side of it. Additionally, when you are planning to make a turn or change lanes on a roadway, always look over your shoulder in the direction you plan to move to check for vehicles or objects that may be in your blind spot.
