Together, we can ensure our scholars have a Strong community that continues to come together to collaborate, partner and support a collective impact approach toward addressing continuous learning with a focus on pupil learning loss, meaningful outreach to our parents and families, and high-quality teaching and learning as we reinvent and support public education through the current COVID pandemic.

Thank you to this Simi family for sharing their quarantine story and for Simi’s Superintendent and others across the state to ask for legislatures to discuss options with educators first. What is the plan for Ventura Unified is top of mind for me?

As classes resume, a new state law governing independent study may force quarantined students to relive last year‘s shutdowns.

I so appreciate all the support but it is still too close to call with 4,156 votes to count (28.57%), and with the next update being posted on Friday, we have a few days to wait but I do feel grateful and humbled for the results so far (and I am reminded that we may not have the final count on Fri. and the last race four years ago was determined by six votes) 😊🗳✅🌺🙌

I woke up with a sense of gratitude and appreciation regardless of the results. I feel so blessed for this opportunity and the support along the way. I am ready to continue the work as your Ventura Unified Trustee and as your local community/parent/educator voice.
