Tri-Counties Sheet Metal Worker's JATC

We recently celebrated the graduation of our summer camp students in the Sheet Metal and Electrical Trades! It was inspiring to see so many bright young people from all over Ventura County ready to take on the trades. A huge thank you to our friends, family, and our special guests, Angie Simons, Stan Capelli, Rich Niday, Evan Maruffo, Joshua Madrano, Matt Lavere, Jeff Forell, John Middleton, Arthur Valenzuela, and Brian Hill for making the event memorable! Special thanks to BBQ in Ventura for the delicious food!

Our Ventura Training Center, in collaboration with IBEW Local 952’s Training Center in Oxnard, hosted the Heavy Metal Summer Experience ! This two-week camp was designed to introduce high school students to the dynamic world of the building trades. Participants
walked away with a toolset courtesy of , new work boots from , and valuable hands-on experience with sheet metal and electrical work. The program just wrapped up and was a major success!

We are proud to honor the 24 exceptional graduates of our apprenticeship program! Last weekend, we celebrated the success of the 2023/2024 graduates at the Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club in Oxnard, with the event being underwritten by the Tri-Counties Sheet Metal Labor Management Cooperative Committee. It was amazing to see instructors and trustees from our Local come together to honor our new journeypeople!

Virlin Donelson is an outstanding apprentice who has been working hard in the field on the Boneso Plumbing & Mechanical’s Arctic Cold Storage Project in Santa Maria. He made us proud by installing HVAC systems like an absolute pro! Keep up the great work, Virlin!

The Apprentices from the Industrial Welding program expertly fabricated this steel mezzanine back in 2015! This structure was built to accommodate professional equipment for Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) training. The TAB training is literally supported by the Industrial Welding Program’s hard work on the mezzanine, so everyone here is incredibly grateful to them!
