Bread Day is always a favorite in our Little Pond Program .
There is something magical about the simple rhythm of grinding wheat into flour, kneading dough with busy little hands, and waiting for the warm scent of fresh bread to fill the room.
After kneading, the children shape their dough into “snakes,” “snails,” spirals, and all kinds of imaginative creations.
Nothing compares to sharing homemade bread fresh from the oven, especially enjoyed with freshly churned butter and almond butter. Moments like these nourish not only the body, but also the senses, imagination, and community.

Come experience the magic of early childhood with us.
At Little Pond, the children experience Spanish during our circle time, through songs, verses, and movement, in a joyful and natural way.
Spanish helps children develop the ability to communicate with openness and confidence.
It nurtures a growing social conscience, an interest in others and a sense of global understanding.
Children begin to meet differences with curiosity and wonder.
In a world rich with cultures and languages, learning Spanish becomes a meaningful step toward feeling at home.

“Easter bunny soft and white
Hopping quickly out of sight,
Thank you for the eggs you bring At Easter time to welcome spring.
Yellow eggs and blue and red
In the grass and flower bed
We will hunt them everywhere
Is it really you who put them there?”

The Power of Imitation.
At our Nature Day we met a kind fisherman and his wife who gently showed the children how to prepare a fishing pole and place the hook on the line. They kept a few little fish in a net in the water for us to see.
Soon the children were gathering sticks and bits of string, carefully crafting their own fishing poles and standing by the pond with great patience and hope.
“Teacher, I can’t catch a fish!” one child called.
“Yes,” we answered softly, “fishing takes patience and time.”
In the early years, children learn through meaningful imitation. When they witness real work done with care, their play becomes rich with purpose and imagination.
Later, small boats made from seeds and leaf sails drifted across the pond, carrying the children’s quiet wonder with them.

Wet felting is such a joyful, tactile experience for children! We made sweet little snowmen using natural sheep’s wool, soap, water, and a recycled sweater for their scarves and faces. So much fun and creativity all around ❄️
