Venice Elementary is looking for student volunteers for their Pow Wow event on Friday, October 16 at VES. To sign up, please see the link in your email!

Students may sign up for one or two shifts... 4:30-6:30 and/or 6:30-8:30.

They need help with various things - setting up, tearing down, checking bands or tickets for bounce houses, running a popcorn machine, helping with other booths that might need a volunteer, etc. Students will be told where to help once they arrive.

Students will need to wear an SLA polo, but they may wear appropriate casual bottoms... and obviously a jacket if it is chilly!

Please note that SLA staff will not be in attendance to supervise students. Students will be expected to behave respectfully and appropriately.

We have a service opportunity for interested families this Saturday, October 3. Every year, Grace United Methodist Church hosts a pumpkin patch, and we always help unload it!

The current estimated time for delivery is 2p.m., however, historically the time has changed depending on the truck/traffic/weather.

Any student that plans on volunteering must be accompanied by an adult; there is no drop-off option for this event. One adult can supervise multiple students, but an adult must be present.

The plan is to begin unloading at Grace United Methodist Church at the corner of Field Avenue and Ave del Circo at 2 p.m.; we will continue until the truck is unloaded. It usually takes 2-3 hours depending on how many volunteers show up.

Make sure to wear old shoes and clothing; pumpkin unloading is hard work and dirty!

We will update families as we get closer to this weekend with any new information. Thank you for your support!

Quarter 1 Service Hours are due this Friday, October 2! Service logs are available at the front desk and on our website!
