As a part of the Community of Saint Mark in Venice, California, Saint Mark Elementary School first opened its doors to students on September 12, 1949. The original school was comprised of three bungalows, purchased from Saint Augustine Parish, and located on Victoria Avenue. Today we recognized our departing teachers at the last school liturgy of the year. We thank Lisa Torreblanca (2nd grade), Lindsey Blomberg (Kindergarten), Natalie Mejia (Religion) and Erin Duffy (Vice Principal and 4th grade). Their impact on generations of St Mark classes is significant and we are grateful for their embrace of the mission of St Mark School. Last week, we had an amazing visit from LAFD Station 63! Our TK, Kinder, and 1st graders were thrilled to learn all about the incredible work firefighters do to keep us safe. The highlight? Getting hands-on experience with the fire hose!💦

This week has been a beautiful celebration of growth, gratitude, and new beginnings. Our graduates participated in Wednesdays Candlelighting Mass and celebrated their families at the 8th grade parent appreciation dinner. Last night, we watched with pride as the Class of 2026 received the their diplomas.
