Topic: Educational Consulting – Socioeconomic Status vs. College
Admissions
Does a student’s socioeconomic status become a factor in the college application review process? The answer is yes for most and no for a few. Are you considering only the familiar, name-brand colleges/universities such as Amherst, MIT, Princeton, and Yale? You’ll want to keep reading to explore. The two financial aid admissions policies – the need-blind & need-based – are applicable to all U.S. and international applicants but with just a handful of selective schools that offer full need/no loans without regard to a student’s financial ability to pay. The difference between the COA and EFC is almost always present (big or small), which can still be an added stress. Although becoming a prestigious alum does come with a hefty price tag initially, knowing your game plan ahead is half of the battle won. As an educational consultant, I’d strongly suggest applicants apply to 3 sets of schools corresponding to your reach, target, and likely list while exploring those who do not advertise the need-blind admissions policy but offer “to meet full demonstrated need” for a cost-effective higher education within means.

Now, how do admissions officers review each student's application packet? Before you read further for answers, remember that writing is ubiquitous in standardized testing & a derivation of clear thinking with regimented training over time. Start today and now to boost your chance to get placed in that "accept" bin.

We are passionate about lifelong learning and giving back to the community; we very much look forward to meeting and chatting with anyone keen on academic writing or wanting to better themselves as working professionals in career advancement. Accel Writing Today is an open, safe environment for writing and idea exchange without judgment. It doesn't hurt to inquire, as my mom always tells us. So, take action to make that inquiry and turn it into a self-investment because "education without ex*****on is just entertainment" (Sanders, 2003).

As a writing coach, I encourage people to appreciate whatever is produced on their 1st draft even if it's a big steaming pile of garbage. Believe it or not, posting this very post is my 3rd attempt/revision (as I try to be succinct). I can't relate to perfection, can you? Progression is the key here!

I’d almost forgotten how fascinating earth science was until a fiery topic merged at dinner last night. The host, a successful businessman with steep knowledge and passion for science, led the conversation enthusiastically about volcanoes – nature’s architect shaping the surface of the earth still today. The Ring of Fire, a belt along the Pacific Ocean, has one of the most active tectonic plate movements that created volcanoes and craters; studies and data may suggest a pattern for researchers to predict the type and time of volcanic eruptions. From here, I can’t help but think about how these natural hazards can bring about economic benefits or impacts, which probably is a discussion that may involve natural resources development, housing prices, and the possibility of tourism. Any take to further my two cents?
