Broadway Elementary School Broadway Elementary (K-5) is an LAUSD Dual Language English- Chinese Mandarin and English-Spanish school located in Venice, CA.

https://broadwayes-lausd-ca.schoolloop.com/ Broadway Elementary School, located in Venice, serves kindergarten-fifth grade students. The goal of the Broadway Dual Immersion Program is to ensure that students become academically proficient in both English and Mandarin or Spanish. To facilitate that students become bilingual, bicultural, and biliterate, the program offers:

✤Language fluency in both English and the target language

✤Rigorous academic instruction

✤Cultural awareness and appreciation

✤Nurturing, supportive learning environment

Broadway’s Dual Immersion Program implements the 50/50 model. The instruction is 50% in English and 50% in Mandarin or Spanish. Each classroom consists of students who are fluent in either Mandarin/Spanish or English and they serve as each other’s language models. LAUSD is working to establish pipelines in the Venice area to offer students graduating from Broadway’s Dual Immersion Program the opportunity to attend a local middle school with a dual language program to further their study in their target language. Our local senior high school, Venice High School, has a foreign languages magnet which offers Mandarin and Spanish among its eight languages. Come Visit Us and sign up for a Tour! Broadway Strings is for students in grades 3–4, and the perfect way for eager students to learn the violin, viola, or cello - no prior experience required!

Broadway Orchestra is for students in grades 3–5 who have previously participated in Broadway string classes or have approximately one year of playing experience. In addition to the large ensemble rehearsals, students will break into sectionals, where they receive personalized instruction in small groups - all while working on fun pieces in a social setting!

Students must provide their own instruments to participate in our string programs.

In Broadway Singers for grades K–2 and Broadway Chorus for grades 3–5, students will learn how to sing exciting choral music in a variety of styles, all while building their musicianship and developing a strong foundation for their vocal technique.
