Venice High will be hosting another round of ECG Heart Scans on September 2nd from 4-6pm. ECG Heart Scan is required for incoming 9th graders and any athlete that is new to Florida. Families can sign up here:

We are proud to officially welcome and congratulate Angela VanBuskirk as the new Head Coach of the Venice High School Girls Golf Team!

Coach VanBuskirk brings a tremendous background in both education and athletics. Currently teaching at Venice Middle School, she has coached multiple sports, including the coed middle school golf team, and has made a lasting impact on student-athletes in our community.

A Venice alum, Angela played four years of Varsity golf right here before earning a full athletic scholarship to the University of South Florida. During her collegiate career, she helped lead her team to a Conference USA Championship in 1996, finishing runner-up individually in the tournament — an incredible accomplishment!

Her coaching philosophy centers around developing well-rounded, balanced young adults. She believes in teaching life skills through golf, emphasizing that hard work and dedication produce real results. Coach VanBuskirk is committed to building confidence, sharpening skills, and fostering friendships that last a lifetime — all while creating a positive and inclusive environment for our student-athletes.

We are excited for the future of Girls Golf under her leadership and can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
